VINELink does not cover BOP sentenced prisoners, ICE detainees, or every federal defendant. Separate federal systems are required. A person can also leave the Pointe Coupee Parish Detention Center through a transfer rather than a release to the community.
The local and statewide paths can overlap without being interchangeable. A state-sentenced person may remain physically housed in the Pointe Coupee Parish Detention Center while DPS&C holds legal custody. DPS&C says statewide LAVNS updates every 24 hours. That is not a promise of instant reporting. Save the time of the search. When a projected release date is needed, the DPS&C telephone locator at 225-383-4580 can provide it if applicable. The date can change and is not the same as discharge.
